Messages from HM Queen Elizabeth
Special Greetings from the Queen for a significant Birthday or Anniversary
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II sends messages to British Virgin Islanders who are 100 years of age or older and couples who have been married for 60 years or more.
How can I receive a congratulatory message from The Queen?
The Queen sends congratulatory messages for:
- 100th Birthday
- 105th Birthday
- every year after the 105th Birthday
- 60th Wedding Anniversary
- 65th Wedding Anniversary
- 70th Wedding Anniversary
- every year after the 70th Wedding Anniversary
These are sent only to citizens of The Queen's Realms or UK Overseas Territories.
Relatives or the individuals themselves must apply in advance of the date for which the message is required, since no automatic notification is received by Buckingham Palace when a special birthday or wedding anniversary is reached.
In order to receive a congratulatory message, you should provide documentary proof of current British nationality and the date of birth or marriage. The Palace will also need copies of birth, marriage or baptism certificates.
Current British passports or other legal documentation will normally satisfy this requirement. Dual nationals are not excluded. Once the criteria has been met, you should provide:
- full names, including titles
- full address to which the message is to be sent
- the date of the birthday or anniversary
How do I request a message?
You can use one of our forms to request a message or contact Social Development Department (284 494-3431).
